Proses seleksi jalur ujian tertulis dan ujian keterampilan Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SNMPTN) 2011 telah selesai dilaksanakan. Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional (Dirjen Dikti Kemdiknas) Djoko Santoso menyampaikan, dari sebanyak 540.953 peserta SNMPTN yang dinyatakan diterima sebanyak 118.233 peserta.Rinciannya, 56.856 peserta kelompok IPA dan 61.377 kelompok IPS. Menurutnya, jumlah pendaftar pada tahun ini meningkat dibandingkan tahun lalu 447.201 peserta.
